The Huelgas Ensemble has existed for half a century. Since 1971, it has emerged as a renowned performing ensemble for the performance of polyphonic music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. In all those years, Huelgas has given Franco-Flemish polyphony a worldwide reputation, with a demanding repertoire that draws crowds. Among the most distinguished polyphonic ensembles, Huelgas undoubtedly ranks among the world’s best.

The present anniversary book shows the road the maestro and his precious ensemble have travelled from 1971 to 2021, in good and bad days. However, it is more than a book that looks back. It looks resolutely forward. Huelgas exists!
